Well out of the breeze today down the prom, even people in the cold (sea temperature) part of the pool, plenty in the geothermally heated section

The flags show the lack of wind.

It's such a shame there are no official stations on the south coast of Cornwall, which is a different world (weatherwise) to Camborn or Newquay in a spring northwesterly.

I just read the the geothermal pool is heated to 28°C to 30°C. Nice.

In these chilly northwesterlies, we do really well here in the shelter of the south coast. A very pleasant maximum of 15.2°C, plenty of sunshine and only a light breeze made for a bit of suntan topping up. UV not high (never is in maritime polar airmass) but still reached 4.1 which is strong enough to tan. Highest UV so far this year was on the 31st March with 4.7 (tropical maritime air).

The main pool was 12.3C this morning, though it will quickly rise 3C or so above the SST (currently 11.4C at the Penzance bouy) with a couple of days warm sunshine, so hopefully OK for an early outdoor  swim next Wednesday. Time will tell.

Prolonged sunshine this afternoon.

Meanwhile loads of snow up at Glencoe Mountain I see. Their best skiing at Easter for decades. https://www.facebook.com/GlencoeMountain/?locale=en_GB  Well over 100cm of snow on some of the runs.
