Recent days have demonstrated very well that an intense anticyclone need not be associated with calm sea conditions. There's been a very large swell, and with little wind near perfect surfing conditions. A rare 5 stars on Magic Seaweed
With depressions stuck in the Atlantic it's likely to continue for some time to come, as long as the wind doesn't pick up.

Maximum of 10.2C (yesterday 10.7C) after an overnight minimum of 0.0C, so just missed an air frost.

Rather smaller swell this morning, but clean & long period. 6-8' is still big for most people.
