MetO Different Forecasts for the same place!

Some years ago, I pointed out to the MetO that they had differing forecasts for ST Mary's (Scilly) airport & the heliport, even though they were the same place.  Same bit of tarmac, same luggage reclaim, same departure lounge, same anemometer, rain gauge etc.

Anyway the reply was they were based on different grid references so the would be different. I then pointed out that at least one of the grid references was wrong, and so it went on. (I won't go into the saga of them mixing up 2 beaches which face in different directions, but I did chat to a nice girl who clearly understood and promised her best to explain to the manager in charge of denials. We went on to chat about various beaches in Cornwall).

Anyway, years on it continues.

All one of the many reasons I didn't last long as a systems analyst /manager at BT, couldn't play the corporate nonsence. It was brilliant at IOS Skybus, just the 2 of us in the DP department!
