Thunderstorms

Had to wait until 0900 BST for heavy rain and thunder here in Wembury.

11.8 mm fell in half an hour.

Cornwall got a good soaking but apparently not in the far west according to Graham.

Have had a howling easterly since. Enough to break off a few small branches of shrubs in the garden. Jubillee party in the local park went ahead as planned, but the Queen did not turn up. Don't blame her. At 96 the wind would have blown her over.

That's right, and no more measurable rain since 09:00. A very near miss.

Very cool & grey day though, with that easterly wind picking up. A huge contrast to yesterday. Massive exodus from the camp sites.
