I went down to Newlyn Green this morning, I was there from 10:00 until noon. Despite it being 24C by the time I returned home, there was no hint of a sea breeze. It was completely still throughout, the sea was glassy, the light was blue & the sea was positively tepid.

Considering it's now a heatwave there we were, on the Wherrytown beach, Penzance, with loads of space, a quiet cafe, and a small carpark by the Tolcarne Inn 3 minutes away half full backed by the open space Newlyn Green (well brown).
Meanwhile, St Ives & Perranporth would have been pure Hell. It's very noticeable in recent years how all the tourists go to the same spots, as recommended by the various Google searches, horrendous lifestyle magazines. Virtually everyone in the cafe and on the beach lived in Penzance Newlyn. Good news I suppose.
Visitors could have had peace & quiet, no queues, no parking issues, beer & pasties & this view. I mean what else do you need.
Not a celebrity chef or celebrity form the home Counties doing a voice over for a mind numbing documentary on beautiful Cornwall in sight.
I really am becoming a grumpy old man!
