Some parts of the UK have seen a big drop in temperature, not so in Pnzance, though today will struggle to get much >15C.

Penzance is in a very favoured spot when it comes to a chilly NW flow in Autumn (unless there's a dangler). The SST still close to 17C, and with the SE aspect, shelter from the wind, and a fair bit of sunshine (as with yesterday) it sometimes appeared as the warmest spot in the UK in Autumn. (May have been the case yesterday).
Not any more of course, as actual observations don't matter in the days of models and AI. Soon going to see a live band will be watching an AI generated 3D of Abba, overseen by a statue of Elon Musk. Just one clip of real music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W37LyeSrFTY

My records start in 1991. Record September minimum was 3.9C on 27th 2007
Last night it fell to 5.7C, the 5th coldest September night. However, it is the earliest date to drop below 7C, and the earliest date to drop below 6C by a fair margin. The previous earliest sub 6C temperature being 4.8C on 24/09/03, when it subsequently rose to 18.9C, a very big range (14.1C) for Penzance. My record temperature range being 17.0C (3.2C to 20.2C) on 9/04/97.

A max of 13.1 yesterday and a min of 0.7 (-2.1 on the grass) last night. Quite a turnaround. Not my lowest max or min for September - even in my short 4-year recording span. That honour goes to 2020 (12.3 and -0.1 respectively) - broken records this month have been restricted to rainfall.

With the relatively warm sea all around, unbroken sunshine (so far) and very light winds, the temperature has rocketed. Already topped 15C (Yesterday's maximum of 15.5C.)

Warm on the south facing granite & concrete. The sea will be considerably warmer than the Jubilee pool after recent cold nights.
Plenty of Cu development inland, mainly contrails over the sea.

Min overnight here 5.2C on 13th.
This is earliest in Sep. I have seen a sub 6C min.
5C min or less is not unusual towards the end of the month.
My record begins 1986, here are some notable earlyish mins
