Met Office forecast suggests severe thunderstorms over Dartmoor and Exmoor.

Remember Lynmouth and Boscastle.

Ventusky isn't suggesting the same intensity of rain.

Boscastle was flooded to the same level twice in the 1950s. https://boscastlevillagearchives.co.uk/gallery/flood-1950-1960/

The main difference in the last event was that the NT had filled the flood plain with a tarmac car park, it was the cars being swept into buildings that did much of the damage in the recent event. THe EA was quite happy for them to keep using the flood plain as a car park. North Crnwall is very prone to extreme rainfall events due to the onset of a sea breeze against a humid S or SW flow. The inland moors normally miss it, they are very localised and almost always miss the official rain guages. Areas to the east of headlands are particularly prone.

An event I watched unfold to the east of Trevose head. http://penzanceweather.atwebpages.com/SrMerrynStorm.PDF

Coverack was a very unusual event, probably more extreme as far as rainfall totals are concerned, than the last Boscastle storm and even more localised. The Cb was impressive from 30 odd miles away at Sennen
