With yesterdays prolonged sunshine the temperature reached 7.1C just after noon, then the temperature fell sharply.

A few light wintry (rain/sleet) showers drifted in from the north coast late afternoon early evening as the wind backed slightly. This was followed by clearing skies & a minimum of -1.8C, the lowest since 2/3/18.

After the showers it's very icy this morning, -1.1C @ 09:00.

A car with the results of yesterday evening showers. Quite a layer of ice on the windscreen. We don't expect that sort of thing in west Cornwall. Some paths were a skating rink first thing.

Although there is still frost in the shade, with no wind & sunshine, it has felt almost warm along the sea front, where the car thermometer was showing 8C.

View of Marazion showing the glassy sea, and cloud still running close to the north coast. Unbroken sunshine (so far, now 15:30) on the south. Penzance is directly behind the Mount.

Marazion beach 14:00, the granite wall was warm to the touch.

Subjectively a perfect winter's day weatherwise.
