In the last 28 days, only 2 days have seen <5 hours of sunshine, and one of those only just.

That's up over the moors, the coast has been sunnier. Just about to become the sunniest month since May 2020. Unbroken sunshine today, and much deeper colours, the air's clearly a good deal cleaner.

Another big gorse fire, on the Lizard this time.

The E wind has now back near N, and decreased considerably to a F3 here in Penzance.

The Bosullow sunshine figures come courtesy of Alan Blake, the co inventor of the Blake Larsen recorder.

Sunshine here now up to 243 hours (Instromet R&D) and 238 hours for the BL recorder.

I suspect that this will end up the sunniest April in my record going back to 2006 beating 2010 with 256 hours. Last April recorded 250 hours and given a bit of sunshine tomorrow, this will end up the sunniest month since last May beating June & July, each recording 243 hours.

It seems that Aprils have been getting sunnier since I started recording sunshine.

Only 1.4 mm of rain so far this month and 8.2 mm since the 13th March.

Bosullow has just passed the 234 hours recorded last April, which was the sunniest in it's 10 year record.
