Sea breeze has just died. Currently (16:30) 27.3C and rising. That's only 1.3C below the peak of the last heatwave, but with virtually calm conditions it feels hotter.
I read that the high temperatures are aided by the ground being so dry. I'm sure that helps, but the sea that surrounds west Cornwall is still pretty wet and my highest ever temperature looks under threat.
Cornwall's largest reservoir, I'm amazed there's no hosepipe ban.
