At around 12:30 it was 28C at St Mawgan (exposed Newquay cliff top). The highest anywhere in the UK is around 30C. Around 26C here in Penzance.

I think there's a real chance that tomorrow might be my hottest day of the year.

Too hot, even on exposed beaches.

Sea breeze has just died. Currently (16:30) 27.3C and rising. That's only 1.3C below the peak of the last heatwave, but with virtually calm conditions it feels hotter. 

I read that the high temperatures are aided by the ground being so dry. I'm sure that helps, but the sea that surrounds west Cornwall is still pretty wet and my highest ever temperature looks under threat.

Cornwall's largest reservoir, I'm amazed there's no hosepipe ban.
