"Aberdeen City Council has cancelled its summer highland games hours before it was due to begin after "heavier than forecast" rain.

There seems to be this continued perception that forecast are always wrong. Ventusky and others had flagged up a heavy rain event at least three days earlier. I was impressed how [annoyingly!} accurate that turned out to be. 27 mms here.
