F4 verging on F5 here in SE facing Penzance.
Often the case in an strong SE-E, the strongest gusts are not in coastal areas facing into the wind, but nearer the north coast, or across the Lizard plateau. Culdrose & Lands End airport (near St Just) currently a good F6. Gusts to 40-45mph at Culdrose.
At my Penzance site, where the wind is blowing straight up the valley from the prom, 600m away (at most), strongest gust so far 27mph.
Still sunny of course. Monthly sunshine at Bosullow set to top 200 hours late tomorrow or Saturday.
