Not unheard of in the last week of May, but some slightly colder air has flooded southward overnight bringing freezing levels down to 900 metres I would guess, and produce a late covering of snow for the mountain tops of Scotland. Here's the latest (and very sharp) webcam picture from Aonach Mor and a rather fuzzy one from the Ptarmigan restaurant on Cairngorm. Temperatures this morning from the SIESAWS on Cairngorm were as low as -3.6°C in a 20kt northwesterly..
