No snow here, though plenty of hail/soft hail, and big temperature fluctuations. 9-10C in the sunny spells, down to 4-5C in the heavy showers. Max/Min to 09:00 today 0.2C / 3.6C

We missed the recent very heavy rain that caused issues in parts of north Cornwall, just sharp showers here.

Still awaiting the forecast gale, big sea yesterday and even where the wind offshore, levels well above astronomical predictions.

Well >1m above on the north coast with the wave setup effect keeping the level high after each big set.

Hail and thunder this morning.
Wild weather with Storm Nelson.
The hail has been unusually large. Around 1 cm size made a horrendous racket on veluxes
The National Coast Watch weather station on Rame Head had a gust of 76.5 kt at 12.13.

Nothing much has happened here, the strongest winds seem to have gone up the channel and onto the south coast just to the east. Wind was briefly strong, but has now died down again. Strongest gust Penzance so far just 38mph. 60mph gust at Lands End, but that's nothing out of the ordinary at that location, and was a brief squall in a shower. Most of west Cornwall peaked around F6.

Current forecast for Penzance very ordinary, wind wise

Swell is also currently smaller than yesterday, when it was really big late afternoon & evening. Looking very unexciting, I'd hoped for more!. No trip out for photos today sadly. Empty beach, visitors put off by the forecast, storm seekers put off by the lack of a really big swell, surfers put off by the blown out conditions!

Where's Magic Seaweed when you need it.
