Although the air was inherently cold on 4th / 5th this was offset by virtually unbroken sunshine and Penzance's shelter from a NNW wind. In the sunshine, and with a maximum of 10.1C & 10.7C respectively, it felt pleasant enough in the sunshine. In the Autumn we would have no doubt got plenty of showers streaming off the sea in those conditions,, one advantage with the SST being at it's lowest.

Yesterday the wind veered and the cloud spread in. Yesterdays maximum of 8.0C equalled the lowest maximum of winter 2021/22 (on 22nd January). However, with the wind almost perfectly aligned with the peninsula, the strongest winds were off each coast. In Penzance & Marazion the wind was only a F3 or so, rather lighter than forecast.

The breeze has kept night time minimums up, minimum of 5.1C last night. The wind has veered more, now ESE and onshore, it is a F4-5 so feels pretty chilly. Some bursts of sunshine though.
