Mine at Cholsey was 22.3°C. It was even warmer indoors (all windows and curtains closed now). My max yesterday was 36.1°C. Probably my highest here in Cholsey. I have to change the highest from my Fine Offset readings as it over read by 4 or 5 degrees.

I don't envy you at all!  Out in the sticks we get cool nights when there is no wind or cloud (especially if the air is dry) so I wasn't surprised we didn't get a tropical night.  We really need cloud cover here to keep the temperature up.

38.5°C today, some cloud invading but whether any rain comes out of it remains to be seen. They need rain in East London (Wennington), where houses have been burnt down because of wi9ld fires. Good old Spike (on uk.sci.weather)- blaming jets for Heathrow's max - what about all the other stations getting 40?
