Slight snow showers 0600-0730Z.  Some compaction of lying snow overnight - now measuring 9 cm.  Icy crust over the snow, and plenty of ice on exposed hard surfaces.  Ground is unfrozen.  Generally small amounts of cloud overnight, clouding up after 0500Z, but breaking again after 0800Z.  Most of the cloud is low ex-CB cirrus, with a trace of low stratocumulus over the Long Mynd.  Generally very good visibility, dropping to moderate or poor in some of the showers.  Surface wind either NE or SW F1-2, but a sustained WSW F3 2100-2300Z.
