Anticyclonic temperature inversion.

The descending anticyclonic air gave a huge inversion in the highlands yesterday, this from Glencoe Mountain.

There are many photos on the glencoe mountain facebook page. This is rather a nice one

The humidity is also down to near 15% in the descending air on the summits! The very low dewpoint probly limited summit snow loss.

The Ben Nevis weather data has been analysied, and sometimes it dropped well below 10% in descending anticyclonic air.

You'll see similar on Yr Wyddfa and other peaks - just not as often.
