Another very wet month, with the 24-hour period 2100Z 15th October to 2100Z 16th October recording 90.4 mm - or around 106% of the October average - which resulted in much flooding in the local area.  September and October 2024 together recorded 321.2 mm of rainfall, which is around 5 months of average rainfall.  Temperatures were slightly above the eLTA but there was a short cold snap during the second week with air frost and ground frost.  Mostly light winds in the first week with some foggy mornings.  A handful of windy days during the first three weeks, windiest around the 20th in association with storm Ashley, but not unusual for October.  A mostly dry, mild and cloudy final week.
