Still a big swell on the north coast. Sennen 10am. Jumping on the beach rock whilst the waves crash around

Meanwhile, back in Mount's Bay (Newlyn Green) - Flat

Wind is offshore here, so small Cu are being blown off the land. Not an issue at Sennen.

Fresher conditions, but in Penzance, with the wind offshore, still >18C.

April was not the exceptional month it was over in most of England. Thundery troughs moving north meant that although there were few rain days, rainfall was just above normal. Also with onshore SE winds being a feature it was warm, but well off the warmest April in my 34 year record.

May has been exceptional, helped by the the first 20 days seeing more in the way of E-NE winds running down the spine of Cornwall, rather than a SE onshore. As a result the warmest May on record at 14.5C, easily beating 1998 (14.1C) & 2023 (14.0C). It was the =2nd driest May (with 2020) after 22.2mm in 1992. The year my rainfall records start.

It was the 2nd warmest spring on record (11.7C) after 2007 (11.9C).
