Note the ice in the harbour.  Water can be brackish.

The time lapse (30 minutes >>> 1 minute) shows mountain wave clouds.  Glider pilots over the Cairngorms flew to above 12,000 feet.

The Victorian bandstand isn't really a weather picture although does show the sky.  I've never known it to be used in the ten years I have lived in the area.

But I take the opportunity to mention an in-use bandstand circa 1944.  My father was in the army (intelligence) and based at Liverpool Docks.  But we managed a visit to Southport which was  relatively unaffected by the War.  The band was the usual noise of oompahs and cymbals.  But I, about five years old at the time (and I remember the event very well), tipped over backwards in my chair, hit my head on the ground and my yells drowned out the music.

Extract from report by a gliding friend:
"That was a flight that made me renew my acquaintance with the power of the atmosphere ....got into some rotor which led to a terrific climb which at one point peaked at 20 knots [2,000 feet/minute]. Boy, was that fun!!"
