Another month of two halves.  The first half unsettled and wet at times - especially the first week - with at or just below average temperatures, and breezy at times.  A different story in the second half, with warm or very warm temperatures, a seven-day heatwave (including a run of four days with temperatures 30+), some warm nights and largely dry after the 16th.  The very warm spell ended on the 27th when temperatures became more seasonal.  Night-time thunderstorm in the early hours of the 26th provided a very good lightning display but very little rain.
