It always amazes me when the numerical output can get the rain forecast so wrong sometimes. At 08.00 BST the Met Office forecast heavy rain for Wembury this morning.
The morning started with drizzle which had cleared by 10.00.

Strangely the MetO started off correct for Penzance. It didn't forecast any rain for here after 08:00. White cloud at 10:00, whole sun's 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 then half suns - which would have been spot on. Then they decided it was cloudy from 11:00 to 13:00, clearing to sun at 14:00, just at the time a narrow band of cloud passed over. They should have stuck with the original forecast, it always looked correct from the satellite imagery.

Very warm & muggy here yesterday. With the low cloud breaking in the just offshore WSW wind it reached 23.6C.

Much more sun today, wind offshore WNW, just a tad cooler, maximum 22.4C. Strong sun though.

I do agree that the forecast for Wembury was very strange. There were negligible amounts of rain showing on the radar at the time you saved that forecast.

(OT) but very sadly some idiot threw glass bottles into the Jubilee Pool last Thursday night. As a result it had to be completely drained, cleaned and refilled, so it was shut for 5 days. Apart from the disappointment to the 1,000s that turned up over the 5 days (It was virtually fully booked the morning and afternoon sessions each take a maximum of 600 people) it lost money over the peak week of the season that a community run facility can ill afford. An estimated 10K lost.
