Although the forecasts for the last few days have been showing the SW, and especially Cornwall, as being very showery, we've had very little here on the south coast of west Cornwall. It's virtually all been land based convection or north coast sea breeze front related.
Wednesday morning was cloudy, with a little light patchy rain (0.4mm) but it soon cleared and from early afternoon it was virtually unbroken sunshine. Yesterday, there was very little cloud & prolonged sunshine. Even inland the sky didn't have the unstable look of recent days. Today was sunny until 14:00, but a veil of thin semi transparent Sc now, with embedded Cu inland.
Earlier today, about 11:30, looking towards Penzance
Been a very pleasant month so far, the ground is very dry. Been a different story away from the immediate south coast, and parts of the north coasts have seen some heavy downpours.
The cold sea at this time of year really helps with the sunshine amounts in these unstable conditions.
