Superbly well forecast

For many days, there had been the forecast for significant snow, particularly but not exclusively, northern England.

The reality has turned out to be almost indistinguishable (except of course in small details) from the forecasts.

Maybe this helps put to bed the old saying "You can never believe the weather forecast" and will generate yet more investment into forecasting services.

My nearest main reporting station is Kinloss.  It again hit the top spot in UK for sunshine total.  But it certainly wasn't very warm sun!

The forecast even several days ago, could not have been more accurate.  Well done.

Being a pensioner with splendid flexibility, for the past ten years or so, my activities have often been planned around the weather forecasts.

It really is a golden age to be a pensioner - and not just because of accurate weather forecasts.  We have enough money (but not wealthy) to survive.  We are so lucky and I really feel for those who have been cheated out of, for example, winter fuel allowance.
