The first 9 days of May saw 74.3mm of rain
10th-21st (inclusive) 0.1mm!

Also, after an extremely dull start it now looks like being a month with well above normal sunshine. 12th, 13th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 21st have all seen virtually unbroken sunshine. As a result Camborne is now > 150 hours of sunshine this month.

It's been so dry that even SW Waters combined storm water /sewage overflows risk not spewing turds everywhere. During the 'clean sweep' in the '90s, a number of new sewage treatment works were constructed, sadly their capacity was so low a heavy drizzle causes overflows.  Some seem to permanently overflow , e.g Chesil Cove & Portland. Luckily the water companies have paid someone a huge salary to say sorry, so that's sorted.  https://www.sas.org.uk/water-quality/

Sorry, I seem to have drifted.

Last rain was a thunderstorm on the afternoon of the 11th.

Since then it has been mostly sunny with just patchy fair weather cloud on occasions. There has been 116 hours of sunshine since the 11th and the monthly total is now at 155 hours.

And that sunshine has had a big impact on the day maximum temperatures with 9 out of the last 11 days all exceeding 20°C though the nights have been starry and cool.

In the garden things are catching up but the vines are well behind for this time, reminds me a little of 2013. It doesn't matter though, probably be picking the grapes in early October instead of at the end of September.
