I notice that the 564 dam thickness line is swept right up across the country on Monday by the low that absorbed the remnants of what once was hurricane Gaston. This should bring some very high temperatures for early September. A broad swathe of 570 dam warm air should bring temperatures close to 30°C I should imagine if this scenario comes of in the latest GFS run:-

According to Stav the warmth next week is coming up from the continent, I'd never realised till now that the continent stretched that far southwest.

Looks like we've got a belter of a week in store next week, or at least for those in the south. 7th and 8th look set pretty fair in the EC ensembles - adding 2-3 degrees to these gives 28-29 potential.

It's weeks like these that make me wonder why we don't try and extend the cricket season further into September rather than farcical matches packed into early April. I'll be down at the Oval on Wed/Thu...!

😀 Warm, but nowhere near a date record. We'd need a plume, from Spain, or Morocco to achieve that.

Heavy rain here in Dawlish! Looks like Yorkshire will gain one point on Middlesex. Both games will perhaps be abandoned with exciting prospects in both. Hoping Yorks get a quick 9 wickets before this rain gets to the Ageas Bowl and Middlesex don't get lucky with the weather at Edgbaston.
