Forecast rain missed Wembury

As usual the 12 hour forecast for rain in a low in a weak flow from the south got the location wrong. Most of the rain fell over Cornwall. We had a couple of very brief afternoon showers, enough to wet the velux windows, but I had nothing recorded in my raingauge.

5.5mm fell in Penzance, almost entirely in the morning. Mainly dry and brightening up in the afternoon. It must have varied quite a bit over short distances. Some lightning to the SW of Scilly around 8am.

Months total has shot up to 6.0mm, the other 0.5mm fell on the 3rd, when the bulk of the showery rain plumed north just to the east. (Camborne got about 3mm on that day.)

Dry since 10:00. Lots of high & medium level cloud until 14:00, then sunny periods, cool breeze.

Prom 17:15

Now a swell on the north coast, so happy surfers. Lovely colours now we have clean Atlantic air.

Sennen at high tide 17:50. Scilly visible from the mainland again (30 miles)
