Right on cue - a real autumnal night.
No air frosts in the 0600-0600 SYNOPs but the grass mins got pretty low.
It's getting to the time of year now when you really need to see the 2100-0900 minimums because our minimum here was after 0600 UTC this morning.
These are reported in the National Climate Message [NCM], and which the Met Office never release bless their cotton socks.
The Met Office go to an enormous amount of effort to provide live WOW data (what size database would you need for all that data?!), but copying our NCM data to an FTP server for people to freely access would be just far too much trouble especially when they can charge you for it.
Good old OGIMET is what I say.

I never realised that you were the 5th snowiest place in the UK!
I had a bit of a job finding Copley - I bet there's a link to one on your very comprehensive site though - I thought that you were west of Middleton-in-Teesdale and not east for some reason. You don't look like you're in a frost hollow?
(I stopped following Yorkshire CC when they stopped the rule that only people born in the county could play for them, it sounds a bit racist now but it's the same kind of rule that applies to the national side)

Although not for this instance, but a classic anomaly with the UK synops in that in the winter the minimum and grass minimum can often be anytime upto 9am. Oh I do wish we would adopt the German and French synop format :-(

Snowiest MetO site in England and 5th in UK, according to MetO!
Copley Lead Mill is a frost hollow but the MetO site is not.. General fall away in height from west to east. Probably the altitude and generally cold region help with the frequent ground frosts.
