After the locally dubbed " storm with no name" on 29th September - well worth a watch, the worst conditions in Mount's Bay for a very long time

We had all sorts of warnings but a pleasant enough day. I full appreciate that 'up north' things were very, very different, but that's hundreds of miles away - and we did have a rain warning and received 5.7mm for the event. By some recent days a positive drought (14.8mm on 13th, 31.2mm on 15th etc.)
It was completely dry after 09:45 with spells of sunshine in the afternoon.
The Jubilee Pool was shut based on advice from the 'experts'. I sat outside the cafe in the afternoon, looking at a sadly deserted pool, sheltered by the walls of the pool walls.
A bigger contrast with the storm with no name you'd be pushed to find.
I realise it was largely the media who made bland statements about the storm, there was never a wind warning for the SW, but what happened to the heavy rain we were warned of? Why wasn't it removed when the radar never showed much on the way.
From the Sennen Cove online diary
"Disappointingly, we did not get the customers we hoped for. After yesterday, I had high hopes. The fear and alarm spread about Storm Ashley would have had an effect, I am sure. Also, more irritating, having spoken to a couple of visitors, some may have been put off coming by the Meteorological Office’s damaging inaccurate forecast. One couple said that they had considered not coming, so it is logical to assume that others did not."
