Currently just over 21C and sea fog keeps drifting in. Sun visible and casting shadows through the fog at times.  Camborne was reporting a dew point of 19C an hour or so ago.

Similar at Porthleven

Thicker fog near the north coast.

Sennen - Clearly if you intend to fly to Scilly today - forget it!

Car park still full, there's some great clean surf further along the beach.

Getting OT
Great weather for Boardmaster's yesterday. BBC Spotlight SW did a bit on Boardmasters without actually using the word surfing, or referring to surfing in any way. Just as the piece ended they mentioned very briefly, in 1 sentence, 3 bands who would be performing. The other 99% was split evenly between traffic issues (what a surprise) and 2 policeman and a souped up police car, so as to look cool for the kids.

Cornwall live does at least make some attempt to cover the event.
The music part is much like Glastonbury was 30 or 40 yeas ago.

Bit of a Foehn effect in Penzance as the mist descends into the bay on a F2 westerly wind. Doesn't exactly break but it does brighten sufficiently to boost the temperature to 22.6C (so far) Generally only  18-19C very nearby in the mist/fog, i.e the SST just off the beach. It really is very thick in places. A nightmare for the lifeguards, I've known them red flag beaches in these conditions.

Fistral yesterday, in excellent visibility. One of the Boardmaster's Beach bars. Looks lovely & chilled.

A more typical Newquay crowd after the immediate post  Covid nightmare influx of arrogant, selfish, rude visitors who are now probably on a flight to Magaluf. They clearly thought Cornwall was simply a new tourist complex and we were all their servants. Didn't really want wild beaches & scenery, more unlimited fast food, heated pools, theme parks, unbroken sunshine & servants.

Back to sun tomorrow.

Graham (Slight attack of the COVIds - hence the above comment!) so no dip for a few few days.
