There's a big Atlantic swell for the first time for many weeks. So it might be warm (for May) but the beach is red flagged! Wave setup surges taking the sea well above the big spring tide high water line, and it's not big tides.

The real surfers will be in once the lifeguards go off duty at 5pm! As the tide drops this evening there could be a nice (sorry - subjective!) break on the low tide sand bars. If only I was 40 years younger.

I guess this was what was needed to raise the sand level at the end of the beach closest to the camera?

That's the theory! Though the sea never ceases to surprse.

It'll take some time to get things back to normal, but 4 tides have already started moving the sand around.
