The first north coast sea breeze event of the year. Classic conditions, humid ligh S wind hits the north coast sea breeze. Showers form just inland, build incredibly quickly (I've been watching whilst sitting in the sun having a drink outside Penzance harbourside cafe) before drifting slowly north.

A couple of my photos looking from my comfy cafe seat by Pz harbour.

Been going on for 2 hours now. It's normally about 2pm the north coast sea breeze suddently kicks in, the south coast sea breeze effect peaks earlier, due to the position of the sun.

I think the most southerly bit over Truro / Falmouth is due to the SW sea breeze from the west side of the Lizard, as shown on the wind map above.

If you run the radar animation, it's all pretty clear

Inland & north coast showers again today, though far less intense.

The forecast doesn't reflect the difference between the north & south coasts. 40-50% chance of rain (MetO) forecast for Penzance virtually all day. Not a drop, nothing measurable yesterday, and plenty of sunshine.
Current view from my garden (looking SE towards the sea). Very gentle sea breeze keeping the Cu & Cb at bay.

Been some big variations in rainfall over short distance in Cornwall over recent days. Not much at all in Penzance.
