I notice that in the last half hour that Dartmoor seems to be peeking out from this layer of SC that's covering most of the country bar the east coast.

You're right Bruce. I have just got back from a few hours near Yelverton on SW fringe of Dartmoor and the sun was out. Lovely. More than could be said of the dull coast here in SW Devon. These are rare occasions when it is sunnier on Dartmoor than it is on the coast.

It was particularly pleasant around Marazion to Praa Sands, with the air descending off the Lizard. Reasonably mild as well. 14C up at Culdrose, 15C at Camborne, max of 15.4C in Penzance, 14.6C on the cliff top near Land's End.

Freezing level at 13,500 feet.
Humidity just 8% and temperature +12°C at 4,500 feet.
