Cumulus and stratocumulus broke to small amounts around midday, revealing large amounts of dense cirrus with patchy lenticular medium cloud underneath.  A "back edge" been visible to the west for hours but has barely moved, hence I think the altocumulus and cirrus are orographic in nature.  Very good or excellent visibility.  Surface wind SW-WSW F4-5 with gusts 25-27 knots.  Maximum temperature so far is 18.3 (1357z).
