The finalised figures just published by the Met Office reveal that the provisional maximum for Thursday July 25th of 32.5°C in central England has now been adjusted upwards to 34.1°C, making it the highest daily maximum for the whole series which started in 1878, beating the 33.2°C from 1976 and 1990 in the process.
