West Cornwall 8-9 metre swell

The swell at Sevenstones peaked around 9 metres this morning, long period as well. Tides aren't large but rather surprised there are no flood warnings for places like Perranporth, which is vulnerable to wave setup surges when the period is long. Flood warnings do seem tightly tied to predicted tide heights, tend to ignore these really big swells.

Wind's not been exceptionally strong peaked at F7 in Penzance, but the sea conditions are fairly extreme.

Watch this webcam and you can see the setup surges, even though the swell height has dropped back 2-3m from it's peak.
