Thundery rain from 2030. Lightning to west and north. Torrential downpours. Roads have turned to rivers.
Convective cells seemed to have pepped up over the last hour. Must be some middle level instability being released because the rain band was forecast to peter out as it moved north.

19.3 mm collected in my 5 inch gauge 1800 to 2359 hrs yesterday (24th) evening.
This made a total for the event (depression moving up from France) of 49 mm. That is, over the 30 hrs 1800 23rd to 2359 on 24th, 49 mm.
