Last nights minimum of 7.6C was easily the lowest of the Autumn and the lowest since 16th May.

Yesterdays maximums was 16.0C, the lowest of the Autumn despite a fair bit of sunshine, and the lowest since 15th May, when it reached just 14.1C.

This year has seen a long unbroken spell of maximum temperatures >= 16C, and it's not ended yet.

Despite the recent few days, September is still the warmest month of the year in Penzance, and easily the warmest September on record. It will be interesting to see how that changes in the final week.

Unexpectedly sunny for the last 3 hours. A veil of high cloud quickly spread in this morning and kept it cool after a chilly night.

However the last 3 hours of sunny periods has pushed the temperature up to 18C by 2pm, so much better. (A subjective statement - clearly). Signs of the high cloud thickening again now, and some lower cloud approaching.

Sennen 14:15. A nice wave, set to get much bigger. Wind offshore tomorrow, so could be good despite the forecast wind strength.

Similar here Graham.
Last night's min was 8.1°C.
Max yesterday was 16.5°C. Both lowest this autumn so far.

This September is almost certainly going to be the warmest in my 38 year record.
The mean stands at 18.2°C atm thanks to the early Sep. heatwave.
My highest Sep.mean is 16.6°C in 2014.

Total rainfall so far 66.3 mm.
30-yr average for Sep. is 67.4 mm.
So bound to be a wet month looking at the forecast.

Penzance looks set to have the warmest September on record, and it will be the warmest month of the year! This despite the very mixed last 10 days or so.

Rainfall, so far, a near normal 76.8mm. Yesterday's Storm Agnes dropped 0.9mm. Managed to get the grass cut in the afternoon when the sun popped out, the wind quickly dried it enough.

Gosh. September the warmest month of the year in Penzance.
Warmer than June?
Here in Wembury I have the June mean as 18.1°C.
The September mean is 17.8°C up to 27th.

Just warmer than June, though I must admit I forgot to check June, I just looked at July & August.

Up to yesterday
June   17.3C
July     17.0C
August 17.1C
September 17.4C

The lower SSTs probably restricted the June temperatures.

So June may well end up the warmest month of the year.
