Hi, All,
Not Copley, although we have been dry with 22.1mm so far (15.6mm on 2nd). I've even watered the veg patch for the first time in many years!
I think Nick down in the Otter Valley has yet to record rain this month - correct me if I'm wrong, Nick. With the dry forecast could it happen for the whole month - must be a rare occurrence?
Is there anyone else?
There is always the chance of thunderstorms moving up from the south later on in these set-ups, so it's not over yet.
I love it warm and dry, enjoy!

Copley stats:-

And although it will be an exceptionally dry June, it won't be a totally dry at any of the SYNOP reporting stations across the UK either...

Far from completely dry in the Rhondda - there has been rain every day for the past eight days.  Current June stats: Mean max: 20.9 (+1.9), Mean min: 12.1 (+3.1), Rain: 27.6 mm (35% for the first 20 days, 23% for the whole month).

Hello Ken,

0.1mm here in Molesey, Surrey.     Maybe we should have a weather swap, Ken, as you like the heat, I'll have your summers and perhaps the autumn, as long as I can have the view you have too. Not so sure I want your winters and springs though!   If you have our summers you'd have to have our air pollution and parched grass too. And garden watering does become a chore. Maybe I should move to Eskdalemuir.

On Bruce's map, we still have a zero for Shoeburyness in effect, since a trace is not measurable rain of course. I take it that must be a staffed site?

It did at one time when they launched radiosondes, but I think those days have gone and it's now just a bunch of microchips.

Correct.  I think that a trace of rainfall is recorded when a present weather sensor detects precipitation and a tip of the rain recorder doesn't happen.  A bit like us humans :-)

Hi, Julian,
0.1m is pretty close to nil imho! I think MetO AWS only pick up 0.2mm. Bet you'd love a good Copley winter really (;0)
Must admit this watering lark is losing its novelty value already and the air pollution would do my asthma no good at all.
Think I'll stay here!

Total here so far the the Elevated Surrey Wetlands is 1.2 mm which will be a record (since 1983).  Previous driest August 1995 with 1.9 mm.

Two readings of 0.4mm here although the latter later in the month may be in error. So virtually a rain free month here in S.Essex.
