Under these syboptic conditions, the wind right on the tip of Cornwall is nearly always a good deal stronger than the forecast, or what the synoptic chart might suggest, due to the affect on the flow of the peninsula.

It's a long long time since it's been quite like that. A combination of empty car car park & beach, salt covered camera, totally blown out etc. Equally, conditions tend to be a lot better than forecast in a SW.
