Only 0.6mm in Penzance overnight, but the wettest night on Scilly for years, with torrential rain and thunder. 44mm recorded as the front stalled overhead. The normal rainfall on Scilly is less than the mainland of Cornwall, with the exception of near Lands End itself & the Lizard point.

Cornwall get's renamed Scotland (23 seconds in) and a depression moves up from the north (1 minute or so in)
I must revise my geography.

The rain moved into west Cornwall around noon, but then got a move on, so although a very wet 2 or 3 hours, a small fraction of the rainfall Scilly received.
In fact, later this afternoon, a rather unforecast transformation.
A transformation in sea conditions as well, after the very big swell of the last 3 days or so.
