Still no air frost here Len, but yesterday evening saw rain /hail /snow pellets (typical coastal mix) with the temperature fluctuating markedly as warmer pools of air off the sea came over then got blown away. The lowest temperature wasn't with the precipitation, but during a dry slot around 20:00
There were enough clear slots for metal surfaces, (i.e. my car!) to drop below freezing, and by morning the windscreen was covered in ice & half melted hail/snow pellets to the point where the wipers were completed iced in. That may look like it could be scraped away but it was absolutely solid.
It took a hair drier on full to loosen the wipers.
Temperature rose to 7.2C in the sunshine early afternoon. Looked at the Bodmin airfield webcam earlier, disappointed to see there was no settled snow, even up there.
Looks like a more organised dangler tomorrow, may actually give some snow on the nearby moors.
