We've had 47mm and counting since midnight. No wonder the Met Office moved the amber warning to cover us....

I see Benson and Northolt had similar figures for 2100-0900: 47.0 and 47.6 respectively.  Brize Norton had 29.2 for the same period, and Heathrow 19.4.
The low has formed further SE than originally anticipated, hence the south-eastward translation of the warning area.  We (the Welsh Marches and West Midlands) were in the firing line originally, so I'm anticipating a lot less rain today now.

The heavy rain stalled further south than initially predicted - very heavy falls at South Newington (flooding too in Beds where they had intense thunderstorms Sunday evening).

Currently 79.2mm. 94.2mm is my highest ever for one day, 16/9/2016, similar situation, low pressure sort of stalled over us. Many of the EA gauges around us are at that level.
