The early afternoon air temperature (around11C) was close to the inshore SST, but the strong April sun, and a degree of instability, led to sea breeze development.
I first spotted this on the Minack webcam. A line of cloud down the spine of the Lizard peninsula, indicating convergence.
Backed up by (marked sea breeze blowing up the Tamar & into Plymouth) I suspect there was a sea breeze blowing up the Fal.
Then, around 14:45 I took this photo just behind Penzance, looking east across Marazion marsh towards Marazion.
The line of cloud marks where the gradient NW wind meets the sea breeze off Mount's Bay. I was under the convergence zone cloud, so it was basically calm, and still sunny - due to the angle of the sun.
Todays maximum near 12c, I haven't checked the exact figure. Superb visibility. Hail showers last night.
