Good evening,

How about some pizza and a chance to meet some movers and shakers in engineering??!!  (This is called networking, ladies!)

We're very pleased to announce a date/time for the St Thomas Society of Women in Engineering (SWE) visit to Eagan Robotics:

Wednesday, Nov. 20th

6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Eagan High School - Room 80 (2nd Door on Left after coming through the East Entrance)

We have both the President and Vice President of SWE coming to talk about:

their high school and college experiences with STEM
why they became interested in engineering
what kind of engineering are they pursuing
was their a mentor/teacher who inspired them
why they chose to study at St. Thomas
what challenges they face as female engineers
if they received scholarships for their education
their future plans/career aspirations
their connections to the business community
what advice they have for young female students

Whether you are a female student interested specifically in engineering or not, we really would like a good turnout for this meeting.  St. Thomas SWE have offered to host a tour/ice cream social at St. Thomas, as well as to be mentors to our FRC students when the build season begins.  What's that famous quote from Casablanca?  "Louise, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." ;)

Parents, mentors, and WIRED members are also encouraged to attend.

Let's make every effort to show them a gracious warm welcome to our Eagan Robotics community with a big turnout.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, Nov. 19th as we will need a count for pizza/beverages.

Thanks very much,

Good afternoon,

I am reminding you of a wonderful opportunity available to all female robotics students, grades 7th through 12th.  The St. Thomas University Society of Women in Engineering has graciously arranged to come and meet with our female students to spark a great relationship with Eagan Robotics.

So far, only three mentors have signed up to come and no students.  Not the turnout we were hoping for.  We would sure hate to cancel and send a message that we're not interested in partnering.

Parents, please strongly encourage your daughters to RSVP.
Students, please carve out some time to greet these potential new mentors/volunteers to our team.  It could lead to some great future collaborations.

Here are the details again:
