Good evening.

We have some exciting opportunities available to female robotics students in the coming months.  Hope many of you will strongly consider participating, as we could sure use your help.

1.  Saturday, April 5th 9 a.m. to Noon:  The University of St. Thomas Society of Women in Engineering (SWE) has invited our Eagan Robotics female students to attend a presentation about mechanical and electrical engineering on campus.  This also includes lunch.  Anyone who is interested should let me know preferably by this Friday, March 21st so I can get back to them.

2.  Friday, May 9th Glacier Hills Family Science Night:  Glacier Hills Elementary in Eagan has a Family Science Night and we'd love to have Eagan Robotics do an FLL/FTC and possibly FRC demo as an exhibitor.  Would love to have female strongly represented.  Anyone who is interested, please let me know by April 11th.

3.  Guthrie Behind the Scenes Tour-Date TBD:  We have an opportunity to go behind the scenes of the Guthrie Theater to learn about the engineering of set design and other STEM related aspects of theater.  We need to see what date is convenient for most students.  Please choose between:

Saturday, May 10th
Saturday, July 12th
Saturday, July 26th

4.  Presentation to Black Hawk and Dakota Hills Middle Schools-Date TBD:  The 8th grade Science Teachers are eager to have our students do presentations for their students.  We'd like to do that before the end of the year.  A presentation at Black Hawk would be from 11 to 11:30.  A presentation to Dakota would be between 1:25 and 2:01.  Please indicate if you would be willing to do a presentation  and your preferred day of the week.

5.  Sweet Science Tasting-Date TBD:  And I haven't forgotten about the Sweet Science Tasting event!  Still waiting to hear confirmation of their future tasting dates for April and beyond.  As soon as I hear, you'll be sure to know!

6.  WIRED-TEC:  At the Feb. 25th STEM Fair, dozens of female professionals agreed to either come to Eagan High School to present about their professions or they have offered to have our female students go to their workplace.  Because there are SO many professionals willing to work with us, I think we need a new program under "WIRED" called "WIRED-TEC" or "Women In Robotics Empowering Daughters To Explore Careers."  I'd like to propose that we set up a number of dates over the course of the next year for opportunities like this.  Summer is a busy time but could also allow us more time to do visits like this.  Please indicate if you have an interest in seeing opportunities like this.  Offer suggestions for dates/times that work best for you.

Thanks much, everyone.
