mised append() article

are tables still widely used? very interesting article, but i rarely
(if ever) use tables anymore. are these tips somehow applicable to
<div/<span's etc...?

Yeah tables are dead. Apart from displaying data or structured information which needs to be sorted or have sort controls associated. That's pretty much the only time i use them these days!

I guess you can just use .append() on divs and get the same speed reductions. Might be worth a test just replace the table with div and see what happens.

I agree, but tables are still only solution when you need to retain
tabulation when the css style is off.

at a conference and talked about there arose html5
something about the use of tables and use them to recommend
"The tables are for tabular data and nothing else"
