It's Valentine's Day, February 14th. For those that are too busy to
visit

at automating this via RSS eventually; in the meantime updates are
done manually by me.

Valentine's Day 2012
http://weheartmusic.typepad.com/blog/2012/02/valentines-day-2012.html
You may, or may not, know that we don't like V-Day. That's not
stopping the rest of the world apparently. Below are some Valentine-
related music news.
GLEE
gleethemusic.com
In terms of #1 hits, no one can hold a candle to Fox's successful
"Glee". Although I must confess, I still don't watch Glee, but I may
have to watch an episode and compare it to "Smash", which is NBC's
answer to Glee. Even though based on the original music and musical,
the two are not in the same ballpark.
Tonight's episode, February 14th, is all about Valentine and Love.
Guest includes Jeff Goldblum (“Jurassic Park”) and Brian Stokes
Mitchell (“Kiss Me, Kate”).
Music from the episode will be under Glee's "Music from Heart" and
available on iTunes now.
Heart Track-List:
"L-O-V-E" (Nat King Cole)- Mike & Tina
"Let Me Love You" (Mario)- Artie
"Stereo Hearts" (Gym Class Heroes)- Apollo (Sam from TGP),
Mercedes, Sam
"Home" (Michael Buble)- Rory
"I Will Always Love You" (Whitney Houston)- Mercedes
"You're The Top" (Cole Porter)- Rachel & her dads
"Cherish"/"Cherish" (Madonna/The Association) Medley- Quinn &
Mercedes
"Love Shack" (The B-52's)- Blaine
Notice anything? Yeah, although Whitney Houston (who passed away
February 11th) made that song famous, it is actually a Dolly Parton
song! Maybe it's listing under Houston's name for clarity, otherwise
they would have to do it as a country song.
THE BIG SLEEP
thebigsleep.net
Brooklyn Vegan premiered The Big Sleep's "Valentine". I guess it was a
big deal because the band took a break, but they are now working on
new songs and will be touring (see tour dates below). Singer/bassist
Sonya Balchandani explained, “We took a little break, worked on stuff
separately and just lived our lives.”

RISA BINDER
risabinder.com
Risa Binder is described as the "girl next door". Her debut album,
Paper Heart comes out today, Valentine's Day.
I guess it's all about cupcakes, cookies and chocolate shops, as
Binder explained, "My favorite things to do are write music and eat
dessert."
Watch her perform "Paper Heart" at The Chocolate Room. If you like her
live, she's doing a few dates below:
02/28/12 Rockwood Music Hall - Stage 2 7PM

U.S. ELEVATOR
uselevator.net
Their biography has something about how the band was formed last
Winter 2011, between Sarah Lee Gutherie, Johnny Irion, and the Rondo
Brothers. Not really much else was given, other than that the band
sounds like "beat-folk".
Their self-titled debut single is available right now on their
website.
As a cover-lover, I knew instantly it was Cyndi Lauper's "All Through
the Night" and Liz Phair's famous song "Never Said Nothing". I
couldn't figure if "Looking For You" was a cover or not, I didn't know
it.
BABY BABY
thegospelofrhythmrecordings.com
"Haters" is new V-day digital single from Baby Baby. You can listen to
the radio-friendly version on Soundcloud.
Their press release explain the new song, "Haters", as a means to
address all the people who "sh** on Baby Baby's parade". The song will
be included on an upcoming LP of the same name.
LEE FIELDS
truthandsoulrecords.com
Lee Fields & The Expressions' single, "You’re The Kind of Girl" is a
free download via his website, just in time for Valentine's Day. His
new album, Faithful Man, will be out March 13th on Brooklyn’s Truth &
Soul Records.
Details about Fields' long career is best summed up in this brief
biography: "With a career spanning 43 years and having toured the
world over with his raucous-yet-tender voice..."
