Hi Delivery Models WG,

There is a PhD studentship up for grabs in the Geography Department here at Loughborough University in the UK, so our research group and 3 others have put together a brief for the type of proposals we're looking for (see attached). Ours is titled "Governing    Off-Grid    Energy    Provision:    exploring    the    role    of    local    governance    in    energy    transitions    in    the    Global    South." and will link in to 2 major research projects we're currently leading on solar nano-grids (Kenya and Bangladesh) and renewable energy and decentralisation (Kenya and Rwanda).

The advert is live on jobs.ac.ukhttp://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/ALN356/epsrc-school-of-social-political-and-geographical-sciences-phd-studentship/

Ed Brown leads our research group at Loughborough and he is a brilliant guy to work with. He's been working in development for over 20 years, coordinates the Low Carbon Energy for Development Network, is a genius in developing ideas into project proposals, getting them funded and then delivering world-class research and most importantly, he is a really nice guy who is a lot of fun to work with.

The studentship is open to any EU citizens, but unfortunately not further afield. Closing date for applications is 7th August 2015.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me (jon.suma...@gmail.com) if you are even remotely interested in this opportunity as it would be great to have someone else from Wind Empowerment working with us in Loughborough. Also, please pass it on to anyone else who you think might be interested.

Cheers,
Jon
